The annual KFPS Stallion Inspection in Leeuwarden Print
Tuesday, 16 February 2010 14:52

Friday January 8 started with a number of meetings for the foreign members and boards. RFA delegation submitted a report on the work done and spoke about the problems of Friesian horsebreeders in Russia. These problems are common to countries in which the Friesian breed has appeared recently. Also we have many similar problems with participating countries which are far away from Holland. KFPS representatives have told of most significant news and about new rules of stallion selection. Rigorous selection and inspection had been stiffened. If the offspring turned out to be of not sufficient quality, the stallion will loose it’s stud license.

Annually stallions who have the best of offspring’s quality, have to prove themselves on the inspections and examination test. Stallions that prove their quality again include in the studbook for next year.

Within Central Inspection, many clinics have been offered, such as preparing for inspections, dressage clinics, a theory and hands-on lesson in judging and movement, and sports psychology. Clinics and trainings were attracted both dressage fans and show cart fans.

Beside judging and inspections, in the program were included show-dressage: Elementary, Medium, Prix St. George and a dressage routine choreographed to music.

Peter Spahn, Anders 451:

Audience enjoyed a special show flown in from the USA with eight horses pulling a marathon wagon as well as a blood-curdling “Roman battle”.

Each evening, thousands of visitors have enjoyed watching the Friesian horses in various shows and rewarded them with thunderous rounds of applause. Very funny and interesting was the dressage show of big Friesian and a little grey pony. Horses executed together a high school airs like school walk.

Central Inspection culmination was the Championship judging on the last day. This year the champion of the Stallion Inspection was Uldrik 457 (Dries 421 x Tsjerk 328P). Reserve champion was Norbert 444. Norbert (Tsjerk 328P x Hearke 254P). Audience welcomed champions with standing ovation.

On the exhibition equestrians can find various products and services: drugs, saddlery, carts and sleighs curiosities, harness, and trailers for transporting horses.

RFA met on the round table conference with KFPS official representative for the international relationships, and the date of Friesian inspection in Russia has been appointed. Event will be held on May 29, 2010 on the "Kartsevo" farm (Moscow region, Istra district, Kartsevo). Jury team – inspectors been appointed KFPS.
